Slicers are combat units utilized by Null Sector, equipped with a cutting beam for a head. They first appeared in Overwatch Uprising and later reappeared in Overwatch 2, filling largely the same role.
Summary
Slicers were encountered first in the Uprising event mission, reappearing in Overwatch 2's Story Missions from Liberation onward. In both games, they share the same role and overall design, being short bipedal robots with cutting beams in place of their heads.
They never directly attack players and instead act as the primary threat to the mission objective (the Payload in Uprising, the Ferry in Liberation, and the Mega-Cannon in Ironclad), attempting to destroy or otherwise disable it with their cutting beams.
Tactics
- Kill Slicers quickly to minimize damage to the objective
- Tanks with shield abilities can block the Slicer's beam
- All heroes can body block the Slicer's beam if necessary
In Overwatch 2, Slicers can be knocked over by dealing damage, momentarily halting their cutting beam.
Uprising
Be wary of allowing Slicers to bunch up or they will immobilize the Payload quickly. They can be easily killed by Reinhardt's hammer swings.
Underworld
Do not neglect Slicers or they will shred TS-1 to ribbons. Knocking them away from TS-1 can give you extra time to kill them if needed.

Trivia
- Slicers are one of a few Null Sector unit types that do not speak or make any sort of audible communication.
