overwatch

Nulltroopers are the basic combat infantry unit of Null Sector,[1] equipped with an arm cannon and (in later iterations) a wrist-mounted energy blade. They make up a large majority of Null Sector's forces, first appearing in Overwatch Uprising and later reappearing in Overwatch 2, filling largely the same role.

Summary

Nulltroopers were first encountered in Uprising as the basic cannon fodder enemies, and are very easy to kill given their low mobility, weak offense, and average health. These Uprising-era Nulltroopers are tall, bipedal combat robots with a design aesthetic similar to Bastion, possessing a single vertical eye slit. They carry Null Sector's distinct purple livery, and possess large arm cannons for right forearms, similar to Bastion and Orisa.

A new iteration of Nulltrooper is encountered in Overwatch 2's Story Missions, appearing from Resistance onward. These Nulltroopers have a sleeker, more imposing design than their older counterparts, being largely white rather than purple and sporting an additional weapon in the form of an wrist-mounted energy blade.

Tactics

Uprising

Nulltroopers are overall weak and not very competent enemies; in battle they will simply rush toward players in large numbers and then fire two or three shots from their arm cannon, which deal 25 damage each if they successfully connect. They perform little evasive movement, and as with other Null Sector enemies, are vulnerable to robot-specific weaknesses such as hacking and EMPs.

Story Missions

Nulltroopers in the Overwatch 2 Story Missions have received a few boosts over their Uprising predecessors:
