Development
during development there was talents and Items Supply Box, later after the demo it got scrapped and so did the talents tree system
Differences from the BlizzConline 2019 Demo
- At the time of the development, it only came out with the name of Brazil and Rio de Janeiro like the PVP map, but in the official version, the mission name was changed to 'Resistance'
-
Hero Selection in the full release
-
Hero Selection in the demo
- At the time of the development, the hero pool was only Reinhardt, Tracer, Mei, and Lúcio, but in the full release version, the hero pool had many options except for Support. However, there was a dedicated selection window like Retribution and Storm Rising , which was deleted and released just like PVP and Overwatch Uprising .
- In the post-mission cinematic, in the demo version, only the four playable heroes escaped and the rest waited aboard the transport, but in the full version, all playable heroes escaped from the ship, and only Brigitte and Mercy were on the transport.
- In the latter half of the cinematic, when Lucio falls without being able to catch the dropship and the mission ends with, the hero's placement and facial expressions also changed in the scene where Meiextends her hand and calls out to Lucio. In the demo version, Winston, Mercy, and Brigitte are surprised and have serious expressions, but in the full release version, Winston is behind Genji and Mercy's expression is stiff. Brigitte makes a solemn expression. In the demo version, the game ends with Mei's face appearing, so it seems to have been created as an open ending , and in the official version, where the ending is completed, this scene appears to be followed by a scene where Lucio is saved.
- At the time of the Development, the pilot of the Overwatch dropship was Echo, but as Echo was changed to be playable in the mission, and Mercy and Brigitte became unplayable in the mission, the pilot was changed to Brigitte. As a result of this, in the cinematic before the start of the game, Brigitte appears but Echo does not, and Reinhardt says something like, 'Echo should drive the dropship, and the rest should follow me.' The cinematic's dialogue remains unchanged after release, and when another hero communicates with Echo on the dropship, he states that Brigitte has temporarily taken over for Echo.
- In the demo version, Lucio's club had a small stage podium in the center of a wide space, like a realistic concert hall, but the full release version uses the same map as Paraíso. Perhaps the reason for using a large space is so that many enemies can be dealt with smoothly in PVE. , the PVP version of Paraíso is likely to be complicated and winding because it is a escort map, but it seems they have decided to unify the design in the end. For reference, the stage, which was very large in the demonstration version, was made smaller at the point just before the payload arrives, and the DJ stage was set up on the second floor.
- The barrier to prevent movement was orange in color at the time of the development and was simply an in-game element for progression that was released when all the story lines were heard. changed to purple, and a gimmick of disabling the barrier by destroying the Power relay was added.
- At the time of the development, the location of the first appearance of the Artillery was on top of the wreckage of a building in the first objective, and the camera work was almost static, so it was quite flat. The Artillery itself was a common unit that was a bit stronger.
- At the time of the development, the core of the ship had tremendous health and was an object that had to be maximally dealt with whenever it was exposed at regular intervals. It was changed to something that had to be destroyed after defeating the Colossal Charger, but of course, the health was much lower.
- At the time of the development, the first appearance of the Colossal Charger was a flat production of standing still and staring at it, but in the full release, the body was raised in a folded state, and the parts were precisely deployed, transforming and preparing for battle. It is a bonus that the paint color has been changed since it is classified as an elite Charger.
Trivia
