This Page is an old version of the new MVP System in Season 2: Summit.
This page covers the removed feature from the original Overwatch. For the upcoming accolades feature, see Post-Match Accolades.
Cards in the original Overwatch were panels which highlighted the best performing players, along with one of the heroes as whom they played, at the end of a game or match.
Each player could only have one card per game or match. Their cards showed statistics which could be found in the Scoreboard, as well as two exclusive statistics: an "MVP" statistic, which a player received when on fire for a large percentage of the game or match; and a "Gold Medals Earned" statistic, which a player received when they received four or five gold medals during the game or match.
Cards matched the team color of the player. Players could vote for any card, regardless of team, and could also vote for their own card. Players could only vote for a card once per game or match. On PC, voting was accomplished by clicking the button underneath the card, and on console, it was accomplished by pressing the respective buttons (X, O, ☐, Δ on PlayStation ; X, Y, B, A on Xbox One). A sound effect was played each time a card for which is voted.
Cards which got five points reached the "Epic" status. A sound effect was played and Athena was saying "Epic." Cards which got ten points reached the "Legendary" status. A sound effect was played and Athena was saying "Legendary." After a card has reached "Epic" or "Legendary" status, the hero who was on the card said a specific voice line.

Trivia
- If a card of you showed up at the end of a game, your "Card" statistic in your Career Profile increased.
- A "ding" noise, which differed from the usual noise played when someone voted for a card, was be played when someone voted for their own card. The sound could only be heard by other players, not the self-voting player.
